About Alcon's Aluminum Utility Connectors and Plastisol Covers

Alcon, Inc. is a manufacturer of overhead and underground utility connectors in aluminum.

Chester G. Sorflaten ("Chet") founded Alcon, Inc. in 1967. Chet is an engneer and was the designer of Alcon's products. Chet was widely known throughout the industry, and at one time worked at Utilco/Ilsco before leaving there to start Alcon, Inc.

Chet invented the use of Plastisol for insulating connectors and covers for submersible applications. Even though Chet has retired from day-to-day participation in the business, Alcon, Inc. continues to produce its products according to Chet's original designs and concepts.
